It was an enjoyable time last weekend as I led an art workshop for the Holiday Gathering of the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Halton at the Oakville Art Society. It was a large group of children ranging in ages from 6 to 16 accompanied by their Big Brother or Big Sister ready to do some art.
Since it was getting close to the Holidays we played an art game where the children collaborated with their Big Brother or Big Sister to create some really beautiful and interesting art. They worked on opposite sides of the table and at 15 minute intervals the canvases were turned and each artist then continued on with what the other artist had started. The teams worked so well together with a lot of imagination put into their work and in the end they created some fascinating art to take home with them.
