A big Thank You goes out to the person who donated a wonderful selection of art supplies to the Oakville Art Society recently!! The supplies are a very welcome sight for the OAS`s Community Outreach Program which provides lessons with materials for free to groups in need in the area.
The supplies received were a variety of gently used (and in some cases unopened!) tubes of paint in beautiful vibrant colours, as well as gel medium, gesso, and paint brushes. The supplies will definitely come in handy and will be very much appreciated by the current monthly classes at the Halton Women`s Shelter where the women love to use bright colours, experiment with texture and are always incredibly appreciative of the lessons, supplies and experience provided to them through the Program. Other groups that benefit from the Program include Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton, SOAAR (Adults with Autism and Developmental Disabilities), Nelson Youth Group and soon Kerr Street Ministries.
If you are doing a little Spring Cleaning this time of year and find any supplies that the Outreach Program could use for these classes please consider giving them to the Oakville Art Society to assist with this incredible program.
To donate, The Oakville Art Society is located at 560 Bronte Rd. The office is open Monday-Thursday from 10 am – 3pm and they can be reached at (905) 827-5711.
