Colourful Collage Workshop at Halton Women’s Place

My Collage Demo for Halton Women’s Place

This past month’s workshop at Halton Women’s Place focused on collage, and the women all did a fantastic job once again creating colourful, creative and sometimes three dimensional art that literally pops off the page!

A variety of tools were used such as tissue paper, construction paper, magazines, stamps, markers and paint.  The women were given a basic idea on creating a shape using the collage papers and paint but were also encouraged to create whatever they felt like creating even if it was more abstract in nature. The main focus was to relax, have fun and play with the materials provided.  The artwork they created was colourful, fun and really creative with almost all of them having a sense of what they wanted to do right from the start.

Here are some samples of their work:

The collage flower pops right off the sides of the page with the centre of the main flower being three dimensional.
