I was very excited to be invited back again this year to teach Self-Portraits at Nelson Youth Centres (NYC) in Burlington as part of their three week Summer Creative Day Program.
NYC is an accredited Children’s Mental Health service provider that provides counselling and therapy services to children with emotional, social, behavioural and learning needs, helping them to reach their full potential.
I had had such a wonderful time last year with this creative group and the caring staff that I was very much looking forward to teaching there again this year. Once again, I had a wonderful group of children ranging in ages from 7-12 who were all incredibly creative and enthusiastic about jumping into the day’s assignment of creating a Self-Portrait and including into the background things that they loved which ranged from sports, to pets and video games to words and favourite colours.
Here are some of their creative and fun Self-Portraits:
It was a fun and creative day at Nelson Youth Centres and I enjoyed being part of their Summer Creative Program again this year!
It’s a wonderful work you’re doing with these children. May you keep it up. God Bless! 🙂
Thanks so much for your kind words! I appreciate it very much! 🙂
