We were looking ahead many months into the future recently when I led a workshop creating paintings that will be turned into cards for the Christmas Season with the talented group from SOAAR.
SOAAR is a community based, innovative day program for young adults/adolescents with autism and developmental disabilities. They are one of several groups that has benefitted from the free art lessons provided by the Oakville Art Society’s Community Art Outreach Program.
Like the workshop we had together last year at this time, it was a hot summer day but everyone easily got thinking of the cold weather and all of their favourite things that come with the Holiday Season. Once again the predominant favourites amongst the group were definitely Snowmen and Christmas Trees (with lots of bright lights and presents underneath!)
The group did a fantastic job with the holiday theme and created some wonderful scenes. I am excited to see the Cards that SOAAR will create from them.
