My Starry Night Magical Pumpkin Patch Demo for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton Halloween Art Party
There was an eerie feeling in the air at the Oakville Art Society as we celebrated Halloween with an art party for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Halton.
With a fantastic art supply table set up, the children were given the opportunity to choose whatever they would like from the wide assortment of materials to create their fantasy Halloween scene. The materials provided by the Oakville Art Society’s Community Outreach Program included a variety of acrylic paints, canvas boards, pencils, markers, soft pastels, craft paper, glitter glue and some fun Halloween stickers that were a big hit with everyone.
As the children dug into the yummy supplies with their own ideas and creations in mind you could start to see the creativity emerging in the room with some really creative paintings by the group who ranged in age from 8 and up.
Although the demo of a “Starry Night Pumpkin Patch” that I created was much more on the magical side than spooky as I told them I don’t like to be too scared on Halloween, the majority of class went the spooky route with a definite theme of Bats being seen with some pumpkins and wolves howling at the moon too.
It was a really fun day and the children and their matches were very thankful for the opportunity to have this class provided to them as part of the Oakville Art Society’s free art program for community groups in need. Here are some of their magical eerie creations:
